The FirstLight Workshop Series began in 2003 with our inaugural event in Auvillar, France. Since then, Becky and I have led Workshops and Photo Expeditions across the globe—from France to Scotland, Mongolia to Italy, Laos to Spain, Africa to India, and domestically, Chesapeake Bay to Wyoming. Each destination is chosen not only for its exceptional photographic potential, but for the rich cultural experiences it offers our photographers.
Founded on the principle of National Geographic and other leading publications. These small-group experiences (with private trips also available) are designed for photographers eager to deepen their skills—particularly in photographing people, an art in itself. Select expeditions, such as Botswana and Namibia, offer a rich blend of people, wildlife, and landscape photography, with Jay working alongside you in the field. When time allows, we also conduct image reviews and critiques throughout the journey.
